The Gerber Gorge Folding Shovel features a fast, easy-to-use push button slide mechanism, a glass-filled nylon handle with rubberized overgrip and a hammer mode for pounding in tent stakes. Light and easily packable, the Gerber Gorge Folding Shovel includes a nylon draw string bag.
The Gerber Gorge is a great survival tool as it is small, durable and completely functional. So many survival tools look good on the shelf, but when taken into the field, actually serve little purpose. The Gerber Gorge Shovel does not fall into this category.
The Gerber Gorge incorporates a slide mechanism which allows the Gorge Shovel to be telescoped from a small 9.25" to 15.75". This same handle is also designed as a hammer surface sufficient for jobs such as hammering tent stakes.
The Gerber Gorge weighs a mere 1.3 lbs and is made of carbon steel with a handle of reinforced nylon. The Gorge Shovel comes with a nylon sheath for easy storage.
